Two La Grange Residents Have Roles with New Movie

When you hear about the new movie, The Spirits of Bourbon Country, you might think fondly about Bardstown and its role as “The Bourbon Capital of the World.” But, Bardstown also is known for another form of spirits – ghosts. This new film, directed by Louisville’s own Chris McGill and edited by eight-time Emmy Award winner Drew Cook, delves into the history and ghost stories of three of Kentucky’s most famous haunts: The Chapeze House, The Jailer’s Inn and The Old Talbott Tavern.

The Spirits of Bourbon Country features Patti Starr, a world-renowned paranormal investigator who owns Ghost Chasers International, founded in 1996 and based in Lexington, Kentucky. Her book, Ghost Hunting in Kentucky and Beyond, is widely hailed as a must-have resource for all serious ghost hunters. She also was voted as one of the Top Ten Ghost Hunter Paranormal Investigators in America for 2006 through to 2009.

The film also features two La Grange residents – Farley Wollert and Jamie Best. Wollert is credited with the musical score and graphic design, and Best proves her mettle as field producer. She has worked with local paranormal research teams investigating local claims of paranormal activity. Both Wollert and Best are active volunteers for Discover Downtown La Grange’s Spirits of La Grange Ghost Tours.

You can meet Chris McGill, Farley Wollert and Jamie Best on Friday evening, November 26th, 2010 at Karen’s Book Barn and Java Stop, 127 East Main Street in La Grange from 6:00-8:00PM. They can answer your questions about Bardstown haunts as they sell The Spirits of Bourbon Country as well as copies of McGill’s previous movie about Louisville’s haunted Waverly Hills.
